Run for Yourself, Run for a Cause, But Most Importantly, Get Out to the College and Run! 

The Third Annual Limestone College 5K Run and 1 Mile Run/Walk, scheduled for April 10, 2010 has been cancelled due to construction along the race route on College Drive.  The annual event, which has been growing year by year, was conceived to raise awareness and funds for children within Cherokee County and the state of South Carolina.  The success of the event has been dependent on the support of many volunteers, contributions by several corporate sponsors, support from the many loyal participants and the support by the City of Gaffney for services such as police for traffic control, safety, first aid and emergency response.

The Student Alumni Leadership Council looked for alternative options to hold the race.  The options were either insufficient for our needs or financially and logistically prohibitive for the 100+ participants in the short time available.  It is with very heavy hearts that SALC came to this decision.  This race is quite dear to us and the community.  Cancelling the 2010 race was our last option.

The members from the Student Alumni Leadership Council want to sincerely thank everyone for their interest in this race and hope you will continue to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  Registered participants will receive a full refund.

The Third Annual Limestone College 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk - Sponsored by SALC

On behalf of the Student Alumni Leadership Council (SALC), we would like to extend an invitation to you, to join us for the Third Annual Limestone College 5K Run and 1 Mile Run/Walk on Saturday, April 10, 2010. The proceeds from this year’s 5K Run and 1 Mile Run/Walk will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Friends and family from across the Southeast are preparing to come back to the College and participate in this annual event. So what are you waiting for? Start getting in shape, gather your co-workers, church and/or organization members and sign-up for the race.

The 5K Run and 1 Mile Run/Walk route runs throughout the historic College community.  All age groups are welcome to participate. Participants will receive a Limestone College 5K Run and 1 Mile Run/Walk T-Shirt and registration bag. For more information, please contact K. C. Check-in and Registration:  8:15 a.m.
Race Begins:  9:30 a.m.

The race begins and ends at the Emmie Evans Rector Tennis Center on the Limestone College campus.

Prizes will be awarded for overall and age group categories.  Age catergories for Male and Female participants include:

12 and under, 13 to 17, 18 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and up.  Overall winner (Male or Female) for 1 Mile Run/Walk.

Free T-shirt and registration bags will be included with all preregistrations.

Onsite registrants will receive T-shirts while supplies last!
